White Ricotta Garlic Pizza with Basil

A golden, chewy pizza crust layered with garlic-infused olive oil, creamy ricotta, mozzarella, and fresh basil leaves—this white pizza is rich, aromatic, and a delicious twist on traditional tomato-based pies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ball of pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: grated Parmesan for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C) or as high as your oven allows. Place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  2. On a floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a 10–12 inch circle.
  3. Mix olive oil and minced garlic together, then brush it evenly over the dough.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the base. Dot spoonfuls of ricotta across the pizza.
  5. Season with oregano, a pinch of salt, and black pepper. Add fresh basil leaves on top.
  6. Transfer pizza to the hot baking surface and bake for 7–10 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.
  7. Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil and grated Parmesan if desired. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use a pizza stone for a crispier crust.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Can substitute part-skim ricotta and mozzarella for a lighter version.
  • Fresh basil is best added before or after baking depending on desired texture.
