Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Wings and Seasoning

  • 2 1/2 lbs. organic chicken wings, disjointed
  • 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch (or 2 tablespoons cornstarch + 2 tablespoons flour for best results)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Sauce

  • 1 cup peach preserves/jam, organic
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter (or unsalted butter + 1/2 teaspoon salt)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 24 tablespoons organic chicken stock

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken Wings: In a large bowl, combine the cleaned and rinsed chicken wings with lemon pepper seasoning, smoked paprika, and cornstarch. Mix thoroughly until all wings are evenly coated. Let them sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. For best flavor and tenderness, marinate the wings overnight or up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
  2. Preheat the Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or non-stick foil. If available, place a wire rack on top of the sheet and generously spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking and promote crispiness.
  3. Arrange and Bake the Wings: Place each wing side by side on the prepared baking sheet or wire rack, spacing them about an inch apart for even cooking. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: While wings bake, heat a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt completely. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the hot honey, peach preserves, chicken stock, and red pepper flakes if using. Whisk the mixture continuously until it reaches a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens to a sticky consistency.
  5. Toss the Wings in Sauce: Once wings are crispy and out of the oven, transfer them to the skillet with the sauce. Toss thoroughly until every wing is generously coated with the sticky hot honey peach sauce.
  6. Serve: Serve the wings immediately alongside your favorite sides such as fries, garlic bread, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, rice, or a fresh salad. Enjoy the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, use a wire rack when baking to allow air circulation around the wings.
  • Marinating the wings overnight enhances flavor and tenderness.
  • You can adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the heat level of the sauce.
  • Homemade hot honey is recommended for best flavor but store-bought works well too.
  • Serves well with a variety of side dishes or as a standalone appetizer.
