  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 4 oz smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp chives, chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for garnish
  • Cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Edible flowers (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle maker.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and Dijon mustard until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just combined.
  5. Lightly grease the waffle iron and cook waffles until golden brown and crisp. Set aside.
  6. Spread or dollop whipped cream cheese on each waffle.
  7. Layer with smoked salmon slices and sprinkle with dill, chives, and cracked pepper.
  8. Garnish with lemon wedges and edible flowers, if using. Serve immediately.
