This Garlic Mushroom Pasta is a simple, flavorful dish featuring tender pasta tossed with sautéed garlic and golden mushrooms, finished with rich Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, it combines comforting textures and savory notes in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or linguine)

Vegetables

  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

Dairy

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned, to release its aroma and flavor.
  3. Cook Mushrooms: Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and any moisture has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Toss Pasta and Cheese: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the mushrooms and garlic. Sprinkle in the Parmesan cheese, and toss everything together over low heat until well combined and the cheese slightly melts to coat the pasta.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with freshly chopped parsley and freshly ground black pepper, then serve immediately for the best flavor.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best depth of flavor.
  • You can substitute butter with olive oil for a lighter version.
  • For extra protein, add grilled chicken or sautéed shrimp.
  • White button mushrooms or cremini mushrooms work well in this recipe.
  • If you prefer a bit of spice, add red chili flakes while sautéing the garlic.
