Perfect for holiday gatherings, this easy-to-make dessert combines salty, sweet, and crunchy textures with fun Easter decorations.

Ingredients

Scale

Base and Caramel

  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar

Chocolate Topping

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 oz white chocolate chips

Decorations

  • ¼ cup Robin Eggs
  • ¼ cup Easter M&Ms
  • Peeps Easter sprinkles (or any fun pastel sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer, covering the entire pan completely to create the crust.
  2. Make the Caramel: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly. When the mixture starts to bubble, let it simmer for about 3 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly and develop into a caramel sauce.
  3. Coat the Crackers: Carefully pour the caramel mixture evenly over the saltine crackers. Bake the pan in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 10 minutes until the caramel is bubbly and golden brown.
  4. Add Chocolate Layers: Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the hot caramel. Let the chocolate sit for a couple of minutes to soften, then use a spoon to spread the melted chocolate evenly. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the top and use a toothpick to swirl it, creating a marbled effect.
  5. Decorate: While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle the Robin Eggs, Easter M&Ms, and festive Easter sprinkles over the bark. Press them in lightly so they stick as the bark cools and sets.
  6. Chill and Serve: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about one hour to let the bark fully set. Once hardened, break into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • You can substitute saltine crackers with another thin, sturdy cracker if desired.
  • If you don’t have Robin Eggs or Easter M&Ms, other colorful candies or crushed nuts work well.
  • Make sure to press the candies lightly into the warm chocolate to ensure they stick after chilling.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For easier cleanup, lining the pan with foil makes removing the bark simple.
