Crispy Chicken Cordon Bleu with Garlic Butter Spaghetti

Golden, crunchy chicken cordon bleu stuffed with savory ham and melted cheese, served with silky garlic butter spaghetti. A comforting yet elegant meal perfect for special occasions or gourmet weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Chicken Cordon Bleu:
  • 2 boneless chicken breasts, pounded thin
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt & pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • For the Garlic Butter Spaghetti:
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Lay out chicken breasts and season with salt and pepper. Add ham and cheese slices, then roll tightly. Secure with toothpicks if needed. Dredge in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  2. Fry: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 165°F), about 4–5 minutes per side. Let rest and slice.
  3. Cook the Pasta: Boil spaghetti until al dente. In a pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant. Toss in cooked pasta, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  4. Serve: Plate the sliced cordon bleu next to a nest of garlic butter spaghetti. Garnish with extra parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use a meat mallet to pound chicken evenly for better rolling and even cooking.
  • For extra crispiness, double-coat the chicken in egg and breadcrumbs.
  • Bake the chicken at 375°F for 20–25 minutes as a lighter alternative to frying.
  • Try Gruyère cheese for a more traditional French flavor.
