Cheesy Puff Pastry Sausage Bites

Golden puff pastry squares filled with juicy sausage and melted cheese, perfect for parties or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz ground sausage (pork or beef)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Butter, for brushing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground sausage with garlic powder and black pepper. Form into 8 small meatballs.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut into 8 equal squares.
  4. Place one sausage meatball in the center of each square, top with shredded cheddar.
  5. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges gently, keeping a slight opening to let cheese show through.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk egg with milk. Brush the tops of the pastry with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 20–22 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Once out of the oven, brush lightly with butter and sprinkle fresh parsley on top.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • You can use pre-cooked sausage for faster prep.
  • Try different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for variation.
  • These bites can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
