Cheesy Broccoli Bites

Crispy golden bites packed with tender broccoli, melty cheddar, and creamy cheese, coated in crunchy breadcrumbs for a perfect appetizer, snack, or party treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, finely chopped and steamed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (divided)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying (or spray for baking)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix steamed broccoli, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, 1/2 cup panko, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls, pressing gently to keep them compact.
  3. Roll each ball in the remaining panko breadcrumbs to coat.
  4. To fry: Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry broccoli bites for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. To bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange bites on a lined baking sheet, spray with cooking oil, and bake for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Ensure broccoli is well-drained after steaming to prevent soggy bites.
  • Can be made ahead and refrigerated before frying or baking.
  • Pairs well with ranch, marinara, or spicy aioli for dipping.
