Creamy feta cheese baked until golden, drizzled with sweet honey, aromatic thyme, and nutty toasted sesame seeds—this warm appetizer is the perfect blend of salty, sweet, and savory, ideal for spreading on crusty bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block (7 oz) feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon mixed sesame seeds (white and black)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Fresh thyme sprigs, for garnish
  • Cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Warm bread or crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the feta block in a small oven-safe baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, fresh thyme leaves, and cracked black pepper.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and bubbly.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle with honey.
  6. Garnish with a few thyme sprigs and serve warm with slices of crusty bread or crackers.

Notes

  • Use high-quality feta for the best creamy texture.
  • Can substitute thyme with rosemary or oregano for a different flavor profile.
  • Pairs excellently with a glass of white wine.
