Ingredients

Scale

For the Crunchwrap

  • 5 large tortillas
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • ⅔ cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 4 tostadas or 2 cups tortilla chips
  • ⅔ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese blend
  • Vegetable oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to fully preheat while you prepare the filling.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain any excess fat, then add ⅓ cup water and 3 tablespoons taco seasoning to the beef. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes to infuse flavor.
  3. Prepare Tortillas: Cut one tortilla into quarters for folding later. Microwave the remaining four tortillas for 20 seconds to make them pliable and prevent cracking while folding.
  4. Assemble the Crunchwrap: On each warmed tortilla, spoon ¼ cup of the seasoned beef in the center. Layer with nacho cheese sauce, a whole tostada shell or crushed tortilla chips, sour cream, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese, stacking the ingredients evenly.
  5. Fold the Wrap: Place one quarter of the cut tortilla in the center atop the fillings. Carefully fold the edges of the large tortilla inward around the center to seal in the fillings and create a neat wrap.
  6. Prepare for Air Frying: Lightly brush the outside of each folded tortilla with vegetable oil to help achieve a crispy, golden crust. Place each wrap seam side down into the air fryer basket.
  7. Cook the Crunchwrap: Air fry the wraps for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip the wraps over carefully and air fry for an additional 3-4 minutes, ensuring an even crisp on both sides.
  8. Serve: Remove the crunchwraps from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your crispy, cheesy homemade Crunchwrap Supreme!

Notes

  • For extra crunch, use fresh tostada shells instead of crushed tortilla chips.
  • Customize fillings with your favorite toppings like jalapeños, guacamole, or black beans.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the wraps in an oven at 425°F for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Microwaving tortillas makes them more pliable and less likely to tear when folding.
  • Brush the wrap with oil to help the tortilla crisp up and brown nicely in the air fryer.
